Rad Reading-December

In December, I read the book Booked written by Kwame Alexander. Booked is about a boy named Nick who’s parents are going through a divorce, and Nicks life is completely ruined not just because of his parents but two bullies at the school. I really liked the book because in the beginning his life was like a puzzle he had all the pieces but they were all scattered, but at the end he put all the pieces together. My favorite character was his friend Coby, he was always there for Nick when he needs him the most. Coby is a helpful character. One quote to prove this is “I’m sorry Coby says” in other words Coby is apologizing for something he did not do. My favorite quote is. “The river turns, and there’s a lot of world to see”. That’s my favorite quote because that means that there is so much more to the world.

Focus

My word of intention for 2023 is focus. There are a few reasons I am going to pay attention to this word this year. One reason why is because if I start to focus more my grades will go up because I will focus in class. Also if I start focusing more that will make me a better person in many different categories. Another reason why I would like to focus more is because if I start focusing more that will make me a better listener so I can learn from other people and how they feel.

Principal Power

I have been told I am to be the principal of my school for the day. One thing I would change if I was the principal would be no homework. I would make sure nobody has homework since homework takes a lot of your time after school. Another thing I would change would be longer weekends. We should have three days of a weekend then the next week four days of weekend so we have the same amount of school and breaks. Also I would change test. Test count as seventy percent of your grade, and let’s say your having a bad day then your grade will drop. Another thing I would change is better lunch, since the cafeteria food taste terrible. Finally I would change your calls periods. I would let the students pick their schedule instead of the school making the students schedule

Blind for a Day

It was a windy day in New York when a bird get hit by a leaf right across the eyes. The leaf was stuck on the birds beak. The bird was blind. But this bird was no ordinary bird it was super bird. The nose like a dog, the ability to have great taste like snakes, the hearing ability like a bat, and the body like a pigeon. Super pigeon new that this was his new life and he expected it. As a challenge. Super pigeon used his hearing to know what was around him, he also used his dog nose to find food, and used his snake taste to enjoy the food. After a few weeks living like this he completed his challenge but super bird got to comfortable like this and stopped using his super hearing. Super pigeon didn’t expect the truck to hit him. Super pigeon had died.

Rad Reading November

For the month of November I read The Cay. The Cay was written by Theodore Taylor. The Cay is about a ship that got hit by a torpedo and a little boy (Phillip) getting saved by an older guy (Timothy). Timothy saved Phillip by throwing him on a raft instead of him drowning. While Phillip is on the raft he loses his vision. After a week of sailing they find a cay. After a few weeks on the cay a boat finally saves them. I loved this book because it teaches people about friendship. Also there was a lot of twist and turns. Also it shows that not all books have a happily ending. My favorite character wasn’t the main character but the second main character, Timothy. Timothy is someone who doesn’t care what you look like but cares about who you really are. One character trait for Timothy is egalitarian. One quote to prove this is “Wanting to hear it from Timothy, I asked him why there were different colors of skin, white and black, brown and red, and he laughed back, “Why b’feesh different color, or flower b’different color? I true don’ know, Phill-eep, but I true tink beneath d’skin is all d’same”. My favorite quote from this book is “Yet I could not help worrying. The thought of losing either of them was unbearable. If something bad happened on the cay, I wanted it to happen to all of us”. This is my favorite quote because this shows how Phillip is starting to care for Timothy.

Three Things

One thing I am grateful for is my family. My family has given me so much to me like the food that is on my plate, my two brothers and my education and so much more that my family has given to me that I am really thankful for. Also I am thankful for is my friend. My friends always make me laugh, smile and make my day when I’m having a bad day. Another thing I am grate full for is my house because that keep me from getting sick when it’s raining or it could keep me cold when it’s hot or keep me hot when it’s cold.

Three Wishes

If you have been given three wishes, what would you ask for? I would want 101 billion dollars so I can buy myself anything I want, like cars houses and I wouldn’t just buy stuff for myself I would buy stuff for my friends and family. My second wish would be to have a pet monkey, because he could do anything I want him to do and a can always have a companion by my side so I never feel lonely. My third and final wish would be able to have a 101 foot vertical because that would be very cool since, you can jump around town, be able to escape by one jump, it would help when playing sports since I could dunk on any rim a can rob a home run and if I get my ball stuck in a tree I can jump up and grab it, having a 101 foot vertical would make most of my problems go away. That is what I would wish for if I had three wishes.

Rad Reading- November

In November, I read the book The Crossover by Kwame Alexander, The Crossover is a realistic fiction book about a 12 year old boy name Josh and his twin brother Jordan. But on the basketball court they are known as JB(Jordan) and Filthy McNasty(Josh). In the book The Crossover there are many plot twist it’s like your on the best roller coaster ever. I never wanted to put the book down when I was reading. My favorite character was Filthy(Josh) because he is smart, one quote that can prove this is “Get my report card, make the honor roll.” This shows that Josh is a student athlete. My favorite quote is “Do y’all remember when you were seven and JB wanted to swing but all the swings were filled and Filthy pushed the little redhead kid out of the swing so JB could take it.” That is my favorite quote because that just shows how much Josh cared for JB.

Life Swap

If I could trade places with anyone it would be Tom Hanks. I would trade places with Tom Hanks for so many reasons. One of the reasons is Tom Hanks is widely none all over the world because he has been in so many movies like Toy Story my personal favorite. Another reason why I would like to be Tom Hanks is I could hang out with other famous people. Finally I would like to be Tom Hanks because I could spend a lot of his money and when the day ends I will be back to being me with all my money not spent.

The Best Baseball Game

My perfect day would be me and my baseball team tailgating at the Dodger game for at least three hours. And when the game starts I would put on my favorite hat. While the game is going one of the Dodgers player will hit a home run and it will come straight to me and I would catch, but when I am getting hungry I will get nachos that are in the helmet unlike the ones in a bag that are bad. Also my seat would be the winning seat to get a prize . Then after the game I would stay later to get my baseballs signed also I would have them sign my baseball cards. Then my dad will through an after party at his house so all my baseball friends will be there and we would probably play baseball, shoot some hoops and start a bound fire. Then when it gets dark we will probably play games till they have to leave.
